The Abbington Alligators would like to welcome Silverton this Tuesday night July 5, 2022 to our neighborhood pool. We are looking forward to hosting your team and having a great time!

Here is some information we would like to share about our neighborhood pool:

Our Location and Directions

101 Kellyridge Dr, Apex, NC 27502 - Directions

Abbington can be accessed on Highway 64 or Kelly Road. The Highway 64 entrance to the neighborhood is on the left 1.3 miles west of the Hwy. 55 overpass. When you turn left into the main entrance you will be on Kellyridge Drive. The pool is immediately on your left.

Warmups and Start Time

Home team warmups begin at 5:00pm

Visiting team warmups begin at 5:30pm

The meet will promptly begin at 6:00pm

Parking

You are welcome to park in our pool parking lot but we have limited parking spaces and encourage carpooling. Once the parking lot is full you may park along the nearby streets.

Please pay attention to the no parking signs. We have two spots near the entrance of the pool for our Gator Grill and for our pizza runner. Please be respectful of those spots.

Concessions

Our “Gator Grill” will be open during the meet. Please come hungry! We serve hotdogs, hamburgers, pizza and other goodies for purchase. We also offer home-baked goods and baked potatoes. You may bring your own food and coolers. No glass is allowed on the pool deck. As per TSA regulations no alcohol may be brought in or consumed during a TSA event. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the pool area.

Swimmers

We have approximately 180 swimmers this year.

Our Pool

Our pool is a six lane 25 yard pool. The visiting team will swim heats in lanes 2, 4 and 6. Please limit the area behind the blocks to swimmers and kid pushers to prevent extra confusion.

We have a section of the pool deck reserved for your team. As you walk into the pool, the section is the far side of the pool deck. Your team is welcome to set up their chairs and tents in this area. The home team will be at the front of the pool.

We have restrooms and showers available if you need them.

Meet Management and Timing

Abbington uses the SwimTopia/Meet Maestro and the Dolphin timing system.

Strokes, Rotation and Dive-overs Our team only swims 3 out of 4 strokes (2 out of 3 for 6 and unders) to shorten the meet timeline and we encourage other teams to do the same. We will be swimming the 6 & U age group in normal sequence and rotation with the other age groups. In order to expedite the meet, we allow dive-overs, to keep the meet running smoothly.

Pre-Meet Briefing

There will be a pre-meet briefing at 5:45pm at the main entrance to the pool. Kindly have all people officiating the meet including timers, judges and TSA representatives in attendance at that time.

Parents/Coaches Freestyle Relay

We just got confirmation from you all at Silverton that we plan on doing a parent's relay at this meet. Looking forward to it!

Theme
The theme for this meet is going to be *USA* since it will be the week of 4th of July!
